What affects the price
Length of coverage. A half day, a full day or several days in a row require different planning. At a trade show or festival, a package for the whole event costs less than booking days one by one.
Photo only, or photo and video. Adding a videographer, a drone or a same-evening edit changes the budget. It is often the best investment: the same moments serve the press, your website and social media.
Delivery times. A selection sent within the hour for the press, or posted live on Instagram, needs a retoucher on site. Coverage delivered within 48 hours costs less than same-evening express delivery.
Usage rights. Photos for your website and social media for one year are not priced like unlimited rights including advertising. Mention it in your quote request.
Timing. During the Film Festival, Cannes Lions or the September boat shows, crews are booked weeks ahead. Booking early secures the team you want at the quoted price.
Delivery times
- Corporate event: first selected photos within 2 hours, full coverage within 48 hours
- Festival red carpet: retouched photos in under an hour
- Trade shows: retouched selection within 24 hours, edited video the next day
- Event film or aftermovie: 48 to 72 hours
Freelance photographer or agency?
A freelance photographer can cost less for a simple evening. An agency becomes the better option as soon as you need several people, video, fast delivery or a backup plan if something goes wrong. We compare both in our guide freelance photographer or agency for a corporate event.

Frequently asked questions
What is an event photographer’s hourly rate in Cannes?
We work by the half day or day rather than by the hour: preparation, travel and retouching are included in the package. A half-day corporate shoot starts at €800.
How much does a photographer cost for an evening during the Cannes Film Festival?
From €1,900 excl. VAT for one red carpet and the after-party, with 50 retouched photos delivered within 6 hours. The price rises with video, the number of events and usage rights.
How far ahead should I book?
For the Film Festival, Cannes Lions and the September boat shows, as soon as your dates are confirmed: Cannes crews are in high demand at those times. Off-season, a few weeks is usually enough.
